We can’t think of any other South African artist that has embraced life in lockdown the way Nasty C has. The 23-year-old has been the busiest local act and this time around, his fanbase got a treat in the form of a visual packaging of his Lost Files EP.
Everything Nasty C has been up to during lockdown
Nasty C’s team needs to be given all the credit for the way they have stayed ahead of the curve. In the early stages of the coronavirus-induced lockdown, we saw the rapper featured on Castle Lite Unlocks In Bed With series, where he performed songs from Lost Files EP.
He then dropped the bomb on us, announcing that he has become the first South African artist to sign with Def Jam Records. A battle with his good friend Emtee raised the stakes of Instagram contests between artists in our region.
The Strings N Bling star also became the first South African artists to sit for a virtual chat with popular Hip-Hop journalist DJ Vlad. Refusing to lift his feet from our necks, Nasty C compiled all that footage he shared on the In Bed With and turned it into a visual EP.
Lost Files EP is a compilation of songs that were never released. These are the cuts that never made it to albums like Bad Hair and his most recent offering, Strings N Bling.

From a sonic perspective, it makes no sense why these songs never made it to the final album. If anything, this speaks to the calibre of his artistry. He will not accept anything par or below.
What’s next for Nasty C? Well, we will have to keep a close watch on his social media to see what the 23-year-old has in store for us.
