Kwesta is coming back to reclaim his throne in South African Hip-Hop and this is everything the fans have been waiting for.
Kwesta returns to the fold with new unreleased music
After a stint on the sidelines, Katlehong’s very own announced his return from a hiatus with a snippet of unreleased music. Kwesta is known for his lyrical finesse and it sounds like this was not left behind.
We have no information on the song as things currently stand. We have reached out to Kwesta’s team to solicit details on his next release but here is the snippet or two he shared on social media:
Was he involved in a recent shootout?
In recent weeks, the rapper’s name has come up in rumours of a shootout that allegedly took place in Westberry, Johannesburg, on Thursday 12 March.
In a Daily Sun report, it was alleged that Kwesta may have been involved in a war of bullets but the rapper quickly took to his Instagram to douse any fires that were agitated by these rumours.
According to Kwesta, he was on the scene of a music video shoot for Zakwe’s Billion AmaMillion remix which features YoungstaCPT and himself.
In his version of events, the rapper claims that “an incident occurred between two guys that were at the video shoot.”
“I was told that an altercation occurred between two individuals just as we wrapped the shoot, I am not aware over what the altercation was about, but it led to one of the guys firing a firearm. After hearing the gunshots we went to see what was happening, at that point, Big Zulu intervened to remedy the situation and stop the guy from shooting.
“The shooter thereafter fled the scene. To our assumption after the incident was over, we didn’t see anyone that got hurt or appeared to be shot as some people had run away after hearing the gunshots. After waiting there for a couple of minutes we figured all was well and no one was hurt. We then decided to leave the scene as the video was done and it was getting dark,” he wrote.

We are just glad that he and others escaped the situation unharmed. We will provide more updates on the music once his team responds to our queries.
