Behind-the-scenes drama on the set of Queen Modjadji is juicier than ever and insiders are spilling the tea on what allegedly went down between former Miss South Africa winners Shudufhadzo Musida and Ndavi Nokeri.
‘Queen Modjadji’ BTS drama involving Shudufhadzo Musida
According to reports, whispers surfaced after the epic drama premiered on Sunday night.
Apparently, our former Miss South Africa queens had a rough time adjusting to the rigours of professional acting.
According to insiders, these beauties expected the red carpet treatment, wanting the spotlight solely on them.
A source close to the production spilt:
“They clearly did not get the memo that they were working on a professional set with directors and producers calling the shots. They did not understand the acting set-up.”
It seems their high demands and diva antics didn’t sit well with the crew, who were originally planning to keep them on the series longer.
Instead, the producers decided to cut their stay short and relegated them to cameo roles.
Rumour has it that Shudu and Ndavi were each demanding their own dressing rooms.
This kind of behaviour didn’t fly on a set where collaboration and professionalism are key.
“Their high demands made it impossible for the producers to keep them longer on the series,” the insider added.
Shudu Musida, who portrayed Muthanoni Mulalo from the VhaVenda Royal Family, and Ndavi Nokeri, playing Muthanoni Khensani from the VaTsonga Royal Family, might have just sabotaged their big acting break.
Of course, this is all speculative at this time and attempts to reach out to their reps were unsuccessful when this article was published.
‘Queen Modjadji’: Cast, plot and how to watch
Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, Queen Modjadji premiered on Mzansi Magic on Sunday, 14 July 2024, and it’s already creating waves.
The series draws inspiration from the legendary Balobedu rainmaker, Queen Modjadji, whose bloodline has ruled the Lobedu clan in Southern Africa for centuries.
The plot delves into the life and legacy of the first Queen Modjadji, blending historical drama with rich cultural storytelling.
This epic drama comes hot on the heels of Shaka iLembe, which broke records and became Google’s most-searched TV series in South Africa last year.
Queen Modjadji features an impressive cast, including Makoma Mohale, Sipho Ndlovu, Wiseman Zitha, Aubrey Mmakola, and Thabo Bopape.
