PH and Shimza are bringing some sense of normalcy to lockdown life with the return of the lockdown house party, only this time they are doing it a lot bigger and better than ever before.
Lockdown house party evolves into something bigger
The gang teamed up with DJ Zinhle, Black Motion, Kabza De Small & DJ Maphorisa, as well as Darque to bring South Africa’s first-ever virtual house party last week.
Although the online event did catch flak from stars like Sho Madjozi for failing to adhere with social distancing, it did garner a lot of hype, closing off the six-hour event with more than 135 000 viewers.
PH and Shimza bring virtual party to TV: Here’s what we know
The success of it all has brought great news for us fans, and an even greater bag for PH and Shimza. The pair went on social media on Wednesday night, to announce that they have teamed up with Channel O and Hunters to bring the syndicated version of the lockdown house party.
This time around, all you need to tune into the virtual experience is a television set and a DStv account because the six-hour event will be broadcast on Channel O (320 on DStv) on Friday between 18:00 and 00:00, and Saturday at the same times.
From what we understand, the first event will be live on Friday 27 March, followed up by the second part on Saturday. This will be the case every weekend until 11 April.
PH and Shimza revealed that the series was recorded and filmed for an entire week, featuring a slew of South Africa’s top-tier talent. To those worried about social distancing, the DJs assured fans that this will not be a live set.
We will await more details from the gang and provide updates where it is necessary. The most important thing is to prepare for the nationwide lockdown and make sure that everything is in place for what promises to be an exciting weekend in isolation.
