Rap queen Nadia Nakai has extended her business portfolio to South Africa’s sought-after liquor industry.
Nadia Nakai announces new deal with Hunter’s Cider
The 30-year-old and the Distell beverage made a joint announcement in a crimson-themed promotion that, if anything, has left us all raging for Red Apple.
The new cider has already hit the shelves at participating liquor retailers but Nakai’s role in the deal concerns a lot more than driving sales.
Here’s what we know about the partnership
Without seeing the contents of the partnership agreement, we are left to speculate on what it all means for the Bragga rapper.
It may be that the partnership is, in fact, an ambassadorship deal where Nakai’s audience reach is used to drive up engagement on the new flavour.
This has been further boosted by a competition where users who purchase a Hunter’s Red Apple product can win anything from custom-made brand merch, a R10 000 Superbalist shopping voucher or other prizes which include a Sony PlayStation 5, an iPhone 12 and more.
At this time, it is not known at what capacity Nakai’s involvement is in the partnership.
SA female celebs taking over liquor industry
The 30-year-old is the latest South African female celebrity to enter into an agreement with a liquor company.
DJ Zinhle ruptured the internet when she announced her epic equity deal with Boulevard’s Nector Rosè product line.
Bonang Matheba has also expanded her profile in SA’s liquor market. The business mogul recently expanded her House of BNG sparkling wine with a canned Nector range, an unprecedented move in MCC culture.
