Monique Muller, the former wife of disgraced presenter Katlego Maboe, has retaliated with fierce statements targeted at Netwerk24 for allegedly publishing false details about her assault case.
The Afrikaans publication recently released a story claiming that Maboe was arrested earlier this month for being in contempt of court.
Several sources were contacted and quotes were received from police spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut, Maboe’s attorney, Ellen Louis and his PR agent Lerato Maleswana.
Probed on the alleged arrest, Louis told the cited publication that the former Expresso Show presenter is being harassed by a vindictive Muller who is using the arm of the law to “cause him emotional harm, as well as reputational and economic damage.”
Monique Muller strikes back: Accuses Netwerk24 of PR bullying
At the height of the buzz around Maboe’s alleged arrest, Muller has refused to stay silent. The former wife of the ousted OUTsurance ambassador took to Instagram, claiming that Maboe and his PR were using their access to mainstream media to assassinate her character.
“This is how you assassinate someone’s character along with your PR team. [Netwerk24] has now written a second article about a (sp) regarding my life where they a (sp) legally bound to ask for comments from me but in an attempt to avoid doing so they claim to ‘hide’ my identity as if no one knows who I am. If it was your intention to ‘protect’ the identity of my son then how about refrain from writing an article discussing the minor child at all,” she exclaimed.
Muller didn’t mince her words about the publication’s role in pushing false narratives about an incident she is a victim in.
“If you are going to do a story, check your facts! Like professional journalists instead of constant favours in an attempt to bully and assassinate someone’s character! You previously wrote that I ‘did not want to comment’ when you made zero contact which is illegal,” Muller scathed in her IG Storeys.
At the time this article was published, the publication in question had not issued a statement on Muller’s claims.
