The mid-tempo song takes listeners on a journey of finding willpower and strength to keep fighting, from the ones whom we love. Reflecting on the writing process, Hinds spoke of how the Covid-19 pandemic brought him and his wife Natalie closer together, in a way he could not have imagined.
“You are learning all the time from each other and now you know what’s right and what makes sense. Eventually, things start to come right and you get the feeling that things are changing. You start to feel freedom,” he said.
Empty Spaces is available on every digital streaming platform (DSP). You can also listen to the full song below:

This is the trio’s second single leading up to Elephant in the Room, the group’s eighth studio album. From what we know, the album has 12 tracks and was written, workshopped and recorded during the pandemic.
According to Hinds, the band’s lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist, Elephant in the Room is a journey through the nuances of what our reality has become.
“There was lots to write about as emotions were running high, families and lovers were separated and times they were a-changing as the legend Bob Dylan would have put it,” he added.
The album is scheduled to drop on Friday 7 May 2021 and can be presaved on all leading DSPs.
