Nasty C has used his platform and voice to raise awareness about the racial injustices suffered by black Americans on the new song he dropped titled They Don’t, which features T.I.
Black Lives Matter: The world mourns George Floyd
The Atlanta rapper has been at the forefront of protests against police brutality following the tragic and outrageous death of George Floyd, a man who was killed by Minnesota police officers over an alleged counterfeit $20 bill.
It’s still hard to wrap one’s head around this fact. Floyd’s death was captured on camera and the video is as gory as the actions of officer Derek Chauvin, who kneeled on an unarmed black man’s neck for nine minutes, killing him in full view of the public.
Chauvin and his fellow officers have since been fire, arrested and charged with second degree murder and manslaughter, an unprecedented move that has shifted the conversation of systemic inequalities against people of colour forward.
Nasty C and T.I. raise awareness with new music
To play his part in supporting a movement that has spread globally, much like coronavirus (Covid-19), Nasty C teamed up with his friend and mentor T.I. to highlight the ills of this world on They Don’t.
According to the Zulu Man With Some Power, all proceeds collected from the sale of the single release will go directly towards the Until Freedom and Solidarity Fund.
