In a detailed statement published on his Instagram page, Sidambe refuted claims that he assaulted Ndamase, painting a different picture of what transpired over the weekend.
According to Sidambe, on Sunday, 4 August 2024, Mihlali attempted to contact him 78 times while he was asleep.
When he did not respond, she arrived at his residence and allegedly tried to stab him with a knife.
Sidambe claims he defended himself by pushing her away, which caused her to hit the wall and sustain injuries.
“Mihlali has a long history of physically assaulting me and damaging my property,” he added, suggesting that her behaviour often worsens under the influence of substances.
Sidambe emphasised that numerous witnesses, including his children, can attest to him never laying a hand on Ndamase, always acting in self-defence.
He expressed his disappointment in Ndamase for using her platform to spread what he calls harmful and manipulative allegations, aimed at tarnishing his public image.
“I ensure you all that I will continue to cooperate fully with any inquiries, especially from authorities, to clear my name and restore my reputation,” Sidambe concluded.
This is how Mihlali Ndamase reacted to the exposé
Mihlali Ndamase responded to Sidambe’s statement with a cryptic Instagram post.
In her Story, she shared a message that read:
“There are two sides to every story. Then there’s the narcissist’s version of events, which seems to have nothing to do with the original story.”
This response suggests that Ndamase stands by her implications of abuse and sees Sidambe’s account as a distortion of the truth.
Ndamase had previously posted and then deleted images of her bruised face and lips, captioning them, “Thank you my angel [Leeroy Sidambe],” which led to widespread speculation about domestic violence.
Despite the gravity of the images, Ndamase has not directly accused Sidambe of assault.
The couple’s tumultuous relationship has been under public scrutiny for some time, with past accusations of financial instability and infidelity adding fuel to the fire.
Their breakup last December saw Ndamase accusing Sidambe of being unable to cover expenses and owing her money, claims that Sidambe has disputed.
Additionally, Sidambe’s financial troubles, including significant tax debt and legal issues over unpaid car instalments, have only added to the controversy surrounding them.
