Emtee Da hustler finally released his long-awaited fifth studio album titled Logan, revealing his most emotional moments as a South African hip-hop icon.
How Emtee used Logan to get real with his audience
The popular rapper has gone through a lot in his career and he uses this album as a gateway into his world.
He goes on to talk about his troubles with his relationships, his dealings with his foes, reminiscing the good moments with his close friends, and finally seeming thankful for everything he’s achieved.
However, the biggest message we received from the project is his love of being a father, hence why the album is named after his child Logan.
The project is filled with some beautiful tracks having the rapper produce some amazing melodies and powerful verses proving Emtee’s talent as a brilliant storyteller.
The only issue with the project was the inclusion of six previously released tracks being Truth, Wave, Johustleburg, iThemba, Brand New Day, and Laqasha which isn’t entirely a bad thing but it would’ve been great to hear more new music from the rapper.
The project incorporates multiple features with names like J Smash, Flash Ikumkani, Gwamba, Lolli Native, and Moozlie.
Other than that, the album is a decent listening experience with 16 tracks and a run-time of 58:36.
Check out the album, now available on all streaming platforms.
Is this the Emtee we all fell in love with?
Although the project is a decent listening experience, fans will forever be wishing they could return to 2015 being the year Emtee released his debut album, Avery.
With tracks like Pearl Thusi, We Up, and of course the classic anthem Roll Up, that album may continue to be his best work.
Although many can agree that Logan doesn’t reach the heights of his previous projects like Avery and Manando, fans are still appreciative of the album.
Logan has been receiving rave reviews all over social media.
