Cassper Nyovest says he will never reconcile with Riky Rick
If Hip-Hop fans in South Africa thought there was a possibility of a reconciliation between rappers Cassper Nyovest and Riky Rick, they would have been let down by Tsibip’s response in a recent Slikour On Life interview.
The Cassper Nyovest interview and what he said
On Thursday, Slikour published the much-anticipated Nyovest interview, two months after the release of his high-streaming studio album Any Minute Now (AMN).
The Family Tree founder touched on many topics, from his maturation in the way he deals with industry friends and foes, his budding friendship with Carpo, to the anticipated boxing match — it will probably never happen — with AKA.
Perhaps, the most interesting part of the interview came when Slikour brought up the subject of his tiff with Riky Rick.
Nyovest on his beef with Riky Rick: ‘He knows what he did’
Unlike other rap beefs, the premise of this one has been kept under the rug by those involved. All we know, at this time, is that both parties feel that they were hard done by.
Riky blames Nyovest for betraying him and his family, apparently, when they needed him the most.
“What bothers me is Cassper [Nyovest] acting like a victim when [he] knows exactly what [he] did,” Riky tweeted in September, in response to Nyovest’s shots on To Whom It May Concern.
Nyovest, on the other hand, made it clear that the person responsible for ruining their friendship which, in his own words, was more of a brotherhood, was Makhado.
“Riky knows exactly how everything played out… He’s in the know of what I am saying, and why I am saying it, how I feel and why I had to do certain things,” Nyovest told Slikour.
No possible truce, says Cassper
The Amademoni star further revealed that in his private conversations with Riky, prior to the release of AMN – something happened that may have ruined any chances of a reconciliation.
This event, that Nyovest was careful to not reveal, was the motivation behind the addition of To Whom It May Concern on AMN.
“In fact, I’m not sure if it’s possible to fix it. I’m not okay with not being 100% sure if we’re good or not, or if you think I’m a good person or not,” Nyovest said about the possibility of a truce between him and Riky.
Riky has yet to furnish a response to these comments. You can watch the full interview below:
