Durban rapper, Blxckie, continues to keep proving his worth in the hip-hop game and has done so by being pictured working alongside American rapper Vic Mensa.

What could this mean for Blxckie and Vic Mensa?

On the 12th of April 2021, Blxckie posted an image to his social media of him and the well-known American rapper, Vince Mensa, creating quite a buzz on social media.

There’s been no word on the reason behind the two being together, however, many speculate that new music could be on the way from the two.

If this isn’t the case, it may just be that the two have always wanted to meet up and have a session together and see what they could do.

Either way, this is a massive deal for any South African musician, being able to gain interest from an international rapper, especially from the United States.

The rise in international collaborations

South Africa has been seeing an impressive rise in local artists collaborating with international stars for their musical output.

This is always a great experience as fans get to experience their own local sound with the more global mainstream artists and of course, it just makes music listeners feel proudly South African to witness it.

In the past, we’ve had some memorable collaborations like Kwesta’s Spirit alongside Wale and Shane Eagle’s guest features like Lute, Kota the Friend, and Bas all assisting on his Dark Moon Flower album.

Most recently, we had Nasty C work with multiple U.S acts on his Zulu Man With Some Power album having artists like Ari Lennox, Lil Gotit, and Lil Keed.

With Blxckie spotted in the studio with one of the bigger names in U.S hip-hop, any kind of release from the pair will definitely make the nation of South Africa proud.

Over on social media, this was the fans reaction to the images.
