World-renowned DJ Black Coffee has had to come forth and issue a statement on the recent spat on social media involving his two former employees.

A woman known on social media as ‘Boniswa’ published an open letter on Twitter, accusing Black Coffee of failing to use his brotherly influence to correct the alleged despicable acts of a former employee named Amaru Da Costa.

Boniswa’s open letter: Black Coffee could’ve have done better

In the letter, Boniswa charged at the Soulistic Music founder for dragging his feet in instituting disciplinary actions against Da Costa when, in 2015, she had flagged his inappropriate behaviour to him.

She also placed the blame on the DJ for turning a blind eye to a culture of emotional abuse that was being nurtured by Da Costa at Soulistic Music.

Black Coffee responds: ‘I believe Boniswa, Amaru must account’

Following the uproar that came after the open letter went viral, Black Coffee was forced to publish a series of tweets where he explained his position in the whole debacle.

He admitted that Boniswa left his employ in 2015 after she had filed numerous complaints about Da Costa. However, in Coffee’s recollection, her resignation was tendered on the grounds that the accused was “narcissistic, emotionally abusive and difficult to work with.”

The DJ added that from then onwards, his relationship with Da Costa deteriorated until 2018 when it all came to a head and a legal dispute forced the accused to terminate his contract with Soulistic Music.

I had no contact or any form of relations with @sisboniswa since she went back to work with Amaru.
This however doesn’t mean that I don’t believe her.I believe @sisboniswa I am sorry the system let her down.

Coffee, in his tweets, insisted that this has not discouraged his belief in her claims that she was sexually assaulted by Da Costa.

Myself and Amaru are still in a legal dispute I have no relationship or friendship with him and I do not speak on his behalf or for him.

No word has been received by Da Costa on what his side of the story is.

Social media left divided by Coffee’s involvement in all of this

This all played out on social media and users were left divided about the involvement of Black Coffee in a spat between his two former employees.

These are some of the reactions we picked from social media:

Again it looks like the person you want to take accountability here it's Black Coffee not Amaru. Your anger also is on Black Coffee not Amaru. It's like you blaming Black Coffee for the rape but not the person who raped you

I take it that you expected or still want him to arrest amaru for you huh? you opened the case, the incident happened in 2019, why aren't you dragging Amaru? pic.twitter.com/bKc8UUNgOA

this Amaru story has a lot of loop holes to be honest, but that doesn't change the fact that every rapist deserves to be behind bars.. pic.twitter.com/TR7dMh9Sqb
