Black Coffee to host VR concert on PRISM
DJ Black Coffee has been recruited to a growing list of A-list producers who will host concerts in virtual reality (VR), the first show of its kind in the pandemic era.
Black Coffee joins world DJs on Sensorium’s PRISM
Thus far, the Subconsciously producer is the only African artist tipped for the exclusive performances in PRISM next to the likes of David Guetta, Carl Cox and Armin van Buuren.
Speaking to EDM Nomad, Black Coffee lauded Sensorium Galaxy, the Tidal-backed music hub for virtual reality events, as the solution for the creative arts in a world where Covid-19 has put a stop to live music.
“So exciting to see Sensorium is leveraging the power of music and technology to bring people together. While the pandemic brought a divide in unity physically, a platform like this can reunite those connections whilst removing the physical limitations of the real world. I’m so excited to be a part of this exciting journey into the VR world,” he said.

The VR program will recreate a photorealistic avatar of Black Coffee, using advanced state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to make the experience as real as possible.
Sasha Tityanko, the art director at Sensorium, said this new venture will give Coffee untethered access to a limitless creative realm where he’ll be able to “create shows that aren’t subjected to the rules of the real world.”
Many of the producer’s fans will have to wait a while before they can experience these VR shows. No specific date has been set for Coffee’s live event. All that’s been confirmed at this time, is that Sensorium Galaxy will launch in the first half of 2021.
