Babes Wodumo launched us into a vibrant quarantine weekend with the release of her sophomore project Idandokazi.
In this album, we are met with the defiant voice of the 25-year-old Durban native. She is way more self-assured, calling her detractors to account on songs like Angekhe and Intombi Yesgebhengu.
Babes Wodumo also captured the essence of the times we currently live in, drawing an anthem out of Corona, an ode to coronavirus (Covid-19).

The release of this album may be a testament to the resilience that has kept Babes Wodumo and one-third of Big Nuz Mampintsha together, through the adversities they faced in 2019.
Suffice it to say, Idandokazi was released under Mampintsha’s flagship label West Ink Records, and not surprisingly, he maintains a prominent presence throughout the 13-track Gqom project.
