In the midst of controversy around the current Miss South Africa’s pursuit of a Miss Universe crown, outgoing queen Shudufhadzo Musida finalised preparations for her entry at Miss World 2021.
UPDATE: Following the postponement of the Miss World 2021 pageant in December 2021, the competition finale has been rescheduled to Wednesday 16 March 2022, and will be broadcast live from Puerto Rico. Check back later for the livestream.
Shudufhadzo Musida prepares for Miss World 2021
Musida’s week was a busy one, ahead of her 28-day trip to Puerto Rico’s capital, San Juan.
Musida will compete with pageant queens from 122 nations at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot, an event that — according to Miss World CEO Julia Morley — required the country’s biggest venue due to the exceptional demand for tickets.
Already, the outgoing Miss South Africa has launched her international pageant campaign. To kick off her Miss World 2021 bid, Musida shared a reel of her journey to the crown and reflected on her goals thus far.
When is the pageant taking place?
This year’s world pageant competition, or festival, as organisers put it, will run for 28 days , from Sunday 21 November 2021 until 16 December 2021.
Musida and 122 other pageant queens will be put through their paces in a series of events that Miss World judges use to select finalists for each round.

The 28-day pageant festival has partnered up with 3 500 media outlets throughout the world. Therefore, there is likely to be no shortage of ideas on how to watch Miss World 2021 in South Africa.
