Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle turned 40 on Wednesday and naturally, the world was in a frenzy in celebration of her milestone.
What’s Meghan Markle been up to?
It’s been five months since Markle and her husband Prince Harry shoved the British monarchy into disrepute in their Oprah Winfrey tell-all that’s reshaped public opinion on the Buckingham Palace.
The royal couple welcomed a baby girl, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, in June and according to a statement found on their Archewell Foundation website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been on parental leave.
“While the Duke and Duchess are on parental leave, Archewell will continue to do important work and publish stories on the site,” the short statement noted.
For the most part, according to reports anyway, Markle and her Duke have kept a low profile in their newfound home in Montecito, California. Based on what close sources have leaked to the press, it appears the Duchess has opted to spend her 40th birthday indoors with her family.
Five times Markle served regal energy
Millions of her supporters around the globe were not discouraged by Markle’s withdrawal from festivities. Tons of birthday tributes and messages from fans poured in on Wednesday, marking a trend that’s topped Twitter’s global list.
Happy Birthday to a formidable woman who has persevered and fought to thrive and not just live. Her smile and spirit could not be taken from her. May both continue in abundance #MeghanMarkle40 pic.twitter.com/pb67fmq10l
