Loadshedding schedule starting Monday, 18 December 2023

Eskom has published an outlook of the loadshedding schedule starting Monday, 18 December 2023.

UPDATE: On Friday, 22 December 2023, Eskom extended the suspension of loadshedding by a week. Read the utility’s statement below.

“Due to consistent improvement in available generation capacity and the lower demand, as well as sufficient emergency reserves, loadshedding will remain suspended until next week Friday at 16:00.”

On Sunday, Eskom extended the suspension of outages to Friday, 22 December 2023 at 16:00, citing “consistent improvement in available generating capacity.”

Therefore, as it stands, the loadshedding schedule will be halted on Monday, until further notice.

“Eskom will communicate should any significant changes occur,” the power utility confirmed.

As of Sunday, 17 December 2023, breakdowns amounted to:

• 12 648MW – down 490MW from Sunday, 10 December 2023
• 8 728MW – up 1 409MW from Sunday, 10 December 2023
