Eskom has published an outlook of the loadshedding schedule starting Monday, 13 May 2024.
Loadshedding outlook for this week: Here’s what to expect
In a statement released on Sunday, Eskom confirmed that the suspension of loadshedding would be extended past 39 days due to “sustained improvement in generation performance, owing to extensive planned maintenance during the summer period and the implementation of the Generation Operational Recovery Plan, which commenced in March 2023.”
“The notable and consistent improvements in generation performance have enabled the continued suspension of loadshedding, which has not been implemented for 46 days,” the utility said.
Moreover, the loadshedding outlook for the week ahead suggests outages may remain suspended as Eskom expects to return a total of 1 520MW of generation capacity to service by Monday evening.
