Eskom published the loadshedding schedule for the weekend starting on Friday, 2 June 2023, which forecasts Stages 2 and 4 rolling outages.
UPDATE: On Sunday, 4 June 2023, Eskom confirmed Stage 2 loadshedding will be in place from 16:00 until 05:00 the next day. See the updated loadshedding schedule below.
Weekend loadshedding schedule starting Friday, 26 May 2023
In a statement, the power utility revealed Stage 6 loadshedding will remain in place from 16:00 on Friday until 05:00 the next day. Thereafter, power cuts are expected to lower to Stage 2 on Saturday, 3 June 2023.
During the day on Sunday, 4 June 2023, Eskom forecasts no loadshedding between 05:00 and 16:00. However, this much-needed reprieve will likely be short-lived, as Stage 4 loadshedding is expected to carry over onto Monday, 5 June 2023.

Update on breakdowns and available capacity
On Friday, Eskom reported more than 17 863MW of generation capacity lost to breakdowns, with an additional 2 437MW offline due to several units placed out of commission for planned maintenance.
In the last 24 hours, Eskom’s generation fleet lost a unit at Arnot and another at Duvha, while the utility’s constraints were further compounded by delays in returning several units to service at Hendrina, Lethabo, Majuba, Matimba, Matla and Camden.
