Loadshedding schedule for week of Monday, 30 January 2023, confirmed

Following weeks of rampant power blackouts with no hope of an end in sight, the national electricity supplier revealed, in a brief statement posted on social media on Sunday that this week’s loadshedding schedule may be kept at a minimum of Stage 4.

The national electricity supplier explained that heightened levels of loadshedding may be increased later this week after four generating units from Camden, Grootvlei, Lethabo and Majuba power stations were taken offline for repairs.

Moreover, Eskom added that the loadshedding schedule for this week may be impacted by the delayed return to service of three generating units at Duvha, Matla and Tutuka power stations.

Consequently, this week is expected to kick off with Stage 4 loadshedding implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 on Monday.

It remains unclear, at this juncture, what the schedule will look like from Tuesday.
