Have you ever immediately felt nervous around someone or very relaxed in someones presence but didn’t know why? What you’ve experienced is a reaction to the persons energy also known as their aura.
Boost your aura with these cleansing practices
Our auras are the energetic field surrounding our bodies and on a day-to-day basis, we’re involved with many different energies, personalities and scenarios that affect them. Make it a point to check in with yourself with these five practices that reset and recharge your emotional and physical body.
Take an aura cleansing bath or shower
Showers and baths are not only cleansing to the physical body but also act as an emotional and mental release too. An aura cleansing bath is a ritualistic bathing process where you can make use of salts, essential oils and sacred herbs to clean your energy field. The easiest and accessible way of doing so is filling the bathtub and adding essential oils (eucalyptus, lavender, frankincense) and Himalayan sea salt. If you’re showering, visualise the water releasing anything that doesn’t serve you.
Smudging
Smudging involves the burning of sacred herbs and using the smoke to cleanse one’s aura. The smoke carries the particular property of the herbs. You can use sage, lavender, thyme or cedar to do so. Light the bundle of herbs as you’d do with an incense stick and move the smoke gently over your body. Go into this with the intention of coming out lighter in your spirit and repeat affirmations to yourself that best work for you.
Soak in some sunlight
Sunlight is our most accessible healer. The sun’s source of sunlight is vital as it charges us up from within. Spending time out in nature catching some sun expands the aura while nourishing all 5 senses, leaving us more energetic and happy. When you need a pick-me-up and a boost in optimism, step away from life for a bit and go get some sun.
Walk in the rain
Give yourself a rainwater cleanse and take a walk in the rain. This neutralises and negative, harmful energies as well as bathe your aura in nature. Visualise your stresses and unwanted energies being washed away with each droplet of water. Remember to go out in light rain and not a thunderstorm.
Surround yourself with healthy individuals
It is important to be aware of the people that come into your space and those you surround yourself with most often. Ask yourself: Are these people good for my mental health? Do they influence me positively and vice versa? Are they aligned with the season I am in right now? It’ll be wise to limit exposure to those who drain your aura rather than nourish it.
