Tyra Banks has been dragged to filth for the problematic behaviour she displayed on her America’s Next Top Model show from yesteryears and for the first time since the outrage, Dani Evans has broken her silence.

Dani Evans is a renowned fashion model who was crowned the sixth winner of America’s Next Top Model in 2006. The victory did not come without controversy, though.
A clip from the show resurfaced on social media, showing a young and vulnerable Dani Evans being grilled by Banks and her panel of judges for refusing to fill a gap in her tooth she was born with.
It’s alleged in the video that Evans had walked out of her dentist appointment after she was coerced by the show’s producers to fix the fault in her teeth if she wanted to claim the crown.
In the clip, Banks could be heard yelling “do you really think you can get a cover-girl contract with a gap in your mouth?”
After mocking Evans with her fellow judges, Banks reached a compromise and awarded the then-20-year-old the ANTM crown on the condition that she returned to the dentist to close the gap.

According to the model, who took to social media to set the record straight on the debacle, the compromise was not as easily reached as the show depicted.
A lot happened behind the scenes and most of what had transpired on set had been removed by the show’s producers.
Evans explains that she felt cornered and left with two choices: accept the crown and continue on her pursuit of a modelling career by closing her tooth gap or be sent back to Arkansas.
