Good has been in the spotlight for all the right and wrong reasons lately, thanks to her romance with Majors.
In a recent interview with The Washington Post, she didn’t hold back on sharing her feelings and frustrations.
“People just don’t get it,” Meagan said, clearly exasperated.
“Jonathan is amazing, and our relationship wasn’t meant to be public, but here we are.”
The couple’s relationship first came to light in May 2023 when they were spotted on a movie date in LA.
And boy, did the gossip mills start churning.
This was just two months after Majors’ messy breakup and assault allegations with his ex, Grace Jabbari.
With Hollywood turning its back on him, Majors found an unexpected ally in Meagan, who stood by him through thick and thin.
“She’s held me down like a Coretta,” Majors said, likening their bond to the iconic strength of Coretta Scott King.
Meagan shared how the public scrutiny initially caught them off guard.
Majors wanted to protect her from the media frenzy, but Meagan was realistic.
“At a certain point, we can’t hide it,” she admitted.
The rumours and assumptions were wild, with some folks speculating she was in it for a PR stunt or financial gain.
Meagan quickly squashed those theories.
“I’ve been working my whole life. I don’t need to be paid. Y’all crazy as hell,” she laughed, her frustration evident.
What she said about the viral Michael Ealy hug
The latest drama in Meagan and Jonathan’s love saga? The infamous Hug-Gate.
A video clip from a recent PowerPlayers Mix and Mingle event in LA showed Meagan’s Think Like a Man co-star, Michael Ealy, giving her a big bear hug while seemingly ignoring Jonathan Majors, who stood awkwardly by.
The internet went wild, accusing Ealy of snubbing Majors.
But Meagan wasn’t having any of it. She jumped into the comments on The Shade Room’s post to set the record straight.
“So we’re just gonna edit out the first part of the video where Jonathan and Michael exchange a big hug first and then speak life over each other—’before’ he gives me a big brother hug?” she wrote, clearly annoyed by the selective editing.
She called out the online haters for projecting negativity onto a harmless moment.
“It’s super unfortunate how people don’t have anything better to do than project on others and intentionally perpetuate negative misguided commentary on life snippets they have no real context to,” she sighed. “But still, God bless y’all.”
Despite the public drama, Meagan and Jonathan seem stronger than ever.
