US actress Kerry Washington has bagged her very first Emmy award for her amazing work behind the camera.
Kerry Washington wins her first Emmy
For a very long time, Washington has flourished as one of America’s most overlooked actors. However, during Tuesday’s 2020 Creative Arts Emmys, her drought came to an end.
The 43-year-old was honoured for her executive producer work for ABC’s Live In Front Of A Studio Audience: “All In The Family” And “Good Times.”
The special that was overseen by her production company Simpson Street beat the 73rd Annual Tony Awards; the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards; the Oscars and the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show Starring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, to clinch the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) award.
Washington is still up for three more
Reacting to the news, Washington took to her Instagram Story to thank everyone at Simpson Street for their undying dedication.
“OMG, so proud of @simpsonstreet and this incredible cast and crew,” she wrote.
