Lil Uzi Vert may have Travis Scott to thank for clearing the sample of a song that is said to be featured in the rapper’s upcoming sophomore offering, Eternal Atake.
Lil Uzi Vert drums up March madness with new album
Lil Uzi Vert fans have been living in La La Land lately. After years of waiting, with legal ramblings around the XO TOUR Llif3 star’s recording contract, it seems that the album is finally coming.
For the most part of this week, Uzi has invested a lot of time in engaging with his fanbase. He went as far as involving them in the selection process of the album’s cover art.
Uzi, dubbed as Baby Pluto in the storyline of Eternal Atake, also serenaded his fans with an epic, science fiction-esque trailer for the album, featuring sounds from his recent single Futsal Shuffle and another familiar cut.
It turns out, the latter was a sample from Travis Scott’s song titled Way Back which is featured in his 2017 sophomore project Birds in the Trap Sing Brian McKnight.
How Travis Scott helped Uzi clear a sample
If you are thinking what we thought when we heard that sample, then your finger is on the right pulse. Uzi has not confirmed any features for his album but he did warn Scott, in a tweet, that “it is about to be a movie”.
At this time, all we can do is wait for Eternal Atake to drop but the way things look, that Scott-endorsed flip of Way Back promises to be a standout cut, with or without La Flame’s sizzling touch.
When is Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake dropping?
While it was initially thought that Uzi was part of the pack of artists expected to drop on Friday 6 March, it seems that things from the rapper’s end have moved and the official word from his team is that Eternal Atake is coming on Friday 13 March.
