Iconic music producer Andre ‘Dr Dre’ Young is recovering well and is expected to be out of hospital soon.
Dr Dre suffers brain aneurysm – What is that?
This welcomed update from the legendary West Coast Hip-Hop pioneer comes hours after TMZ broke the news that he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s ICU, on Tuesday.
It’s believed Dr Dre suffered a severe brain aneurysm and was rushed to the Los Angeles hospital for urgent treatment. According to the Mayo Clinic, an aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain.
“It often looks like a berry hanging on a stem. A brain aneurysm can leak or rupture, causing bleeding into the brain (hemorrhagic stroke),” the clinic writes.
Dre appreciates the love and support he’s received
Shortly after the news broke, Dr Dre took to his Instagram to send a message of thanks to everyone who prayed for him.
“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!” he wrote.
Some of the celebrities that sent prayers to the producer include the likes of Quincy Jones, who claimed to love Dre like his own son.
Beloved @drdre…Love you man…Like my own son!!! After going through 2 aneurysms myself, I’m believing & trusting that you will come out stronger than ever before! Here for you—whatever you need. ❤️
