DMX: How drug addiction sent a legend to the hospital
Many were shocked to hear that the New York rapper was left in a “vegetative state” after suffering the heart attack.
Of course, many immediately had some idea of how this may have happened, and it was indeed confirmed that the rapper suffered a heart attack.
According to TMZ, it was a drug overdose that caused the heart attack.
However, the rapper’s lawyer, Murray Richman, never confirmed if the incident was due to a drug overdose and has yet to release what the real reason may have been.
“I’m very sad about it, extremely sad. He’s like my son,” Richman said
“He’s just a tremendous person, tremendous entertainer, tremendous human being. And so much to offer, so much to say, not the run-of-the-mill rapper, a person of great depth.” he concluded.
Sadly DMX has remained in hospital on life support, fighting for his life.
The three-time Grammy-nominated rapper has had a long past with drugs, having spent time in jail for the possession of marijuana from 2000 to 2001.
Ever since, he had continued to get arrested for the possession of drugs, aggravated assaults, possession of weapons, animal cruelty, and menacing and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Although Simmons had found success in music, it’s clear the rapper had a troubling life outside the studio.
