Good Ones marks new era for Charli
With this new chapter, Charli intends to show the darker side of Pop music.
She describes the music video of Good Ones as a visual representation of being unable to hold onto a healthy relationship and instead being drawn back to the dysfunctional and toxic ones.
The music video was filmed in Mexico and was co-directed by Hannah Lux Davis. It depicts the mourning of a partner, while also realising the abandonment of goodness in exchange for the sinister.
Besides Charli’s new song and music video, she launched something else this month too.
The pop star launched a new standalone podcast, Charli XCX’s Best Song Ever, where she discovers songs that have shaped her guests and friends’ lives.

What’s so great about the new Charli XCX track is that it is her embracing a commercial chart sound in a way that feels completely on brand artistically in a way that the whole Boom Clap / Sucker era just never ever did – it’s sublime pic.twitter.com/dclWucdZsL
