The hopes of welcoming a true thoroughbred have been shattered after it was reported that New York rapper Bobby Shmurda was denied parole last week.
Bobby Shmurda is not getting out on parole
According to TMZ, the 26-year-old was not successful in convincing the parole board to have him released in 2020. At this time, no reason has been furnished to support the board’s decision.
However, we can easily guess that the appeal was dismissed on the account of Shmurda’s record while incarcerated. The cited publication reports that the rapper has racked up more than 11 prison violations, which include drug possession, fighting and illegally possessing a shank.
Now more than ever, it seems likely that Shmurda will spend his entire seven-year bid in prison which ends on Saturday 11 December 2021.
What is he in prison for?
Bobby Shmurda was sentenced to seven years for his involvement in illicit activities with his fellow members of the Grimy Savage Crips.
To avoid a maximum jail bid of more than 20 years and risk losing on the charge of conspiracy to commit murder, Shmurda copped a plea deal and accepted guilt on conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a deadly weapon.
The 26-year-old has been incarcerated since December 2014.
