The BET Awards returned for the 19th year to celebrate black excellence with Nomzamo Mbatha, South Africa’s pride and talented export, hosting the virtual event.
Due to restrictions enforced by the deadly coronavirus (Covid-19), Viacom CBS took the safe option of hosting the occasion via live stream, the first award ceremony to do this since the virus broke out in December 2019.
Alas, it was a well-executed occasion where African Americans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment were celebrated for achievements made over the past year.
