It will take something deadlier than coronavirus (Covid-19) and the Nine Trey Bloods to stop the rein of Tekashi 6ix9ine.
TROLLZ: How 6ix9ine rolled out his next single
In yet another momentous move, the rainbow-haired snitch of a rapper has confirmed his second post-prison release which comes out on Friday 12 June 2020.
6ix9ine first teased the song three weeks ago, amid a chart war with Ariana Grande and Justin Beiber. After trolling the fans into thinking they could influence the title of the single, 6ix9ine went ahead and confirmed that he would go with his own suggestion, TROLLZ.
His followers were left to guess the feature and for weeks, the rapper postponed the release of the song. At first, it was tactical but then the death of George Floyd happened and black America’s uprising forced 6ix9ine to practice caution and refrain from deviating the attention away from African Americans’ fight against systemic racism and police brutality.
Nicki Minaj confirmed as a guest on TROLLZ
Things have calmed since Floyd was laid to rest and now the time has come to let the TROLLZ out.
DJ Akademiks, a man close to 6ix9ine, confirmed that the rapper will be featuring Nicki Minaj and the song will be released on Friday.
He also revealed that the release will be accompanied by a music video and merchandise, a clear directive of 6ix9ine’s intentions to storm the charts and this time, garner for the top-spot.
Minaj has brought some good to the release. Taking to Twitter, the rapstress confirmed that a portion of the proceeds made from the song will be donated towards organisations fighting for justice against police brutality.
This is how social media reacted to the announcement:
