Kanye West might have grabbed all the attention on his Twitter timeline but in the backend, his Yeezy manufacturing plant is gearing up for a busy period leading into 2021.
Yeezy SZN: New sneakers coming in October
The sneaker empire’s content division Yeezy Mafia published a list of releases coming in October. We have repurposed this list below with detailed information on each sneaker and how you can get yourself a pair in South Africa.
YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Carbon”
Initially teased as the 350 V2 “Asriel”, the “Carbon” comes with a darker design. A cloudy grey primeknit upper is shaved off on the sides by jet black accents and mated to a cream outsole.
The “Carbon” dropped on Friday 2 October 2020 and retails for $220 (R3 625 excl. South African taxes and shipping). According to Fortress of Solitude, the sneaker is available for purchase on the Adidas online store as well as Adidas Originals retailers in Sandton, Rosebank, the V&A Waterfront and Canal Walk
YEEZY QNTM “Teal Blue”
The “Teal Blue” is a reinvention of the high-top sneaker. It gets its name from the teal stripe that runs through the midfoot section of the shoe, cutting in the greyscales that sit above the signature YEEZY cream outsole.
The “Teal Blue” is expected to hit the stores on Saturday 10 October at a retail price of $250 (R4 120 excl. South African taxes and shipping).
YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Natural” or “Abez”
The “Natural” features a monochromatic colourway that defines YEEZY’s brand identity. Light brushes of grey and white feature prominently in the sneaker’s design.
The “Natural” is scheduled for release on Saturday 24 October 2020 and will retail for $220 (R3 625 excl. South African taxes and shipping)
YEEZY BOOST 380 “Calcite Glow”
Probably a favourite for sneakerheads will certainly be the “Calcite Glow”. Not for its muted whites and greys, but more so for the fact that it glows in the dark.
“The Calcite Glow will glow a fluorescent volt green in the dark, which is a first for the YEEZY BOOST 380 silhouette.”
YEEZY Mafia
This sneaker is expected to drop on Saturday 31 October 2020 and will retail for $230 (R3 790 excl. South African taxes and shipping).
