The United States (US) is still grappling with the horrors that unfolded inside Robb Elementary School, in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday afternoon.
18-year-old Salvado Ramos died in a hail of bullets in a confrontation with Uvalde authorities after he had murdered 19 children and two teachers at the elementary school.
Further probes into his background showed signs of violent behaviour – termed ‘red flagging’ in the United States. Days before he killed a class of second, third and fourth graders, Ramos posted pictures of assault rifles and tagged one of his followers. In a series of DMs later found on the user’s Instagram, Ramos had warned the unidentified woman about “airing out”, a slang phrase referencing a shooting.
In honour of the 21 victims of the Texas mass shooting, Yeezy GAP and Balenciaga confirmed their much-anticipated launch has been postponed until Friday, 27 May 2022.
“In light of the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, we are postponing the Yeezy GAP Engineered by Balenciaga launch until Friday, 27 May as we pause, our hearts go out to the families and communities impacted,” the statement read.
How to buy Yeezy GAP in South Africa?
The Yeezy GAP collaboration with Balenciaga will primarily be sold to US markets, with shipping presumably covering Europe and Asia. At this time, no information exists on whether shipping to South Africa is offered.
Retail-priced Yeezy products, for the most part, are exclusively available at Adidas stores in South Africa, and even so, they tend to sell out in minutes.
