The Story of Dunk is a six-part series by Nike which documents the rise and resilience of a silhouette that broke the norms of sneaker culture and thrived as the greatest underdog in street fashion.
Nike to drop The Story of Dunk doccie
Made for the agile soles of basketball athletes, the Nike Dunk is a street culture classic that has survived in the ever-morphing world of sneakers for 35 years.
“From its debut on university hardwoods in 1985 through its evolution on the concrete of the street, the Nike Dunk has always dared to be different,” Nike said.
To celebrate this phenomenal feat after what’s been a great resurgence in 2020, Nike announced that it will be rolling out a six-part documentary that tells the story of the Dunk and its rise to prominence in the past three decades.
“A six-part documentary tells the story of this cult classic through those who share the Dunk’s defiant spirit and make it their own, marking it out as a symbol of self-expression that binds the rebellious in us all,” Nike said in a statement.
The Story of Dunk: Where to watch, release date
As reported by Sneaker Freaker, the doccie will be broadcast on SKNRS, Nike’s e-commerce platform for everything sneakers.
When will the first episode be expected? No dates have been confirmed by the apparel giant as yet. All we know, at this time, is that there is a sneaker documentary on its way and it will feature the most prominent voices in streetwear culture, talking about how the Dunk changed their lives.
