Streetwear UK-based fashion brand, Hype announced a new collaboration with the fast-food franchise KFC. The collaboration dropped on 4 August 2022 on HYPE’s website.
KFC x Hype: What to expect from the exclusive capsule
The capsule was created with a “festival” theme in mind as the items display savoury and bold design features.
The forty-seven-piece collection includes menswear, womenswear and accessories. The range incorporates interchangeable everyday wear such as bralettes, shorts, joggers, t-shirts, jackets, caps and bags.
The collection is inspired by KFC’s History, by incorporating designs from its menus to slogans.
Some statement pieces include a bucket hat with the KFC logo embroidered across the front, which can also be worn in reverse, showing a chicken print.
The capsule also includes a loungewear set. The items are made from “soft-touch” KFC-red fabric, with a contrasting palm tree and chicken print, embossed with ‘It’s Finger-Lickin’ Good’.
The collection also introduces a vintage racer-style jacket. The oversized garment embodies KFC’s classic branding and is finished with press studs, side pockets, and a fitted hem and cuff.
Another interesting item in the collaboration is the KFC Bucket Bag, which is designed specifically to fit a bucket of chicken.
How to buy KFC x Hype in South Africa
The collection is available in selected stores worldwide. Unfortunately, no brick-and-mortar stores in South Africa will have the collaboration in stock.
But the good news is you can also look ‘finger lickin’ good’. South Africans can still get their hands on the exclusive collection by ordering through the Hype website like everybody else.
According to the website:
“The international standard delivery service ensures that you receive your order within 5-7 working days from dispatch for locations inside Europe (excluding UK) and within 7-14 working days from dispatch for localities outside of Europe.”
South Africans should also note:
“Orders shipped outside of the UK may incur an import and custom fee, where these charges will be collected at the time on checkout. Just Hype does not hold any control over these charges.”
“All couriers may not be able to deliver within the expected time frame if severe weather conditions occur.”
Standard delivery to South Africa is done through the Royal Mail courier service at a delivery fee of £4.99 (R100.99). Delivery would take seven-14 working days.
