The first Durban July since 2019 returned on Saturday, and more than ever, South Africa’s ‘celebriton’ crème de la crème came out in droves to showcase their looks at the Greyville Racecourse.
2022 Durban July: Celebrities stay true to the theme
Tagged Africa’s greatest horseracing event, the Durban July has been the buzz on social media, with fans on the lookout for their favourite celebrity garments. This year’s theme was ‘Show me the honey’, a nod to the great anticipation that’s hovered over COVID-19 restrictions which were timeously relaxed a week ago.
Gold Circle’s Marketing and Events Executive Steve Marshall described the return of Durban July as “a defining event in the South African sporting and social calendar, and one that pulls people together from every walk of life.”
“This year the feeling we get is the desire to make the 2022 Hollywoodbets Durban July a celebration of perseverance and resilience in our collective ability to deal with the tough times everyone has endured over the last two years,” Marshall said.
Celebrities turned up at the horseracing event, taking place at the Greyville Racecourse, where a number of road closures have been set up to control traffic, with their respective interpretations of the theme.
