Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving monarch of the Commonwealth, will celebrate the first-ever Jubilee this weekend, with a slew of top draw events on the cards.
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee weekend events calendar
Far removed from fake death scares and her recovery from COVID-19, the Queen, in a statement released ahead of the four-day parade at Buckingham Palace, looked forward to the “happy memories [that] will be created at these festive occasions.”
“I continue to be inspired by the goodwill shown to me, and hope that the coming days will provide an opportunity to reflect on all that has been achieved during the last seventy years, as we look to the future with confidence and enthusiasm,” she said.
Elizabeth II became queen regnant of the Commonwealth in February 1952, following the death of her father King George VI. She has held this position for 70 years, marking it the longest period of monarchical rule under a single leader in British history.
To celebrate the historic feat, the Jubile weekend’s events calendar will be filled with commemorations which, as reported by CNN, will be attended by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Here is a run-down of the events taking place in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee this weekend:

The Queen, accompanied by the Royal Family on horseback and in carriages, will lead a parade from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade.
More than 1 200 officers from the Queen’s Household Division, along with hundreds of army musicians will join the parade and the regimental flag will be trooped by the 1st Battalion.
Prince Charles, alongside Prince William and Princess Anne, will take the salute on the Queen’s behalf, and the procession will, thereafter, move back to Buckingham Palace where Elizabeth II is expected to make a cameo appearance from her balcony.
The day’s festivities will be capped by a flypast led by the Royal Air Force.
