The highly anticipated 2023 Metro FM Awards will be held on Saturday, 6 May 2023, at the Mbombela Stadium, Mpumalanga.

2023 Metro FM Awards: Lerato Kganyago, Katlego Maboe unveiled as hosts

The prestigious event will be hosted by Metro FM on-air personality Lerato Kganyago, and Katlego Maboe.

According to Metro FM management, the decision to appoint Kganyago and Maboe was based on their skills as “sought-after hosts, who are able to carry events of this calibre.”

“The two presenters exude class and high energy, elements that embody the prestigious Metro FM Awards,” the station management wrote.

Kganyago, a long-standing member of the Metro FM family, has seven years of experience in live television and broadcasting.

The DJ revealed she was elated to be given the opportunity to co-host the 2023 Metro FM Awards.

Kganyago promised to deliver an exceptional experience for South Africa’s music fans alongside a seasoned Maboe.

“Together with Katlego Maboe, we promise to bring an unparalleled level of class, energy, and excitement to the stage,” says Kganyago.

The late AKA will be the highlight of the ceremony, months after he was viciously killed in Durban.

The Mass Country rapper will posthumously contest in six of the 18 categories, including Song and Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Hip-Hop Artist, Best Male Artist, and Best Music Video.
