Authorities in Tom Burke, Limpopo, have ramped up their efforts in the search for 23-year-old Yolanda Munorwei.
Yolanda Munorwei: Everything we know about her disappearance
According to Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Munorwei has been missing for at least three days and those close to her are starting to grow worrisome since this behaviour is uncharacteristic of the 23-year-old.
Who is Yolanda Munorwei?
There is not much information available on the missing woman. Moreover, Tom Burke police have failed to provide useful details that would help in the search for Munorwei.
Alas, from the statement issued by Colonel Ngoepe, we know that the 23-year-old is a Zimbabwean national who resided in Swartwater, a settlement situated on the outskirts of Lephalale, Limpopo.
We could not find any other useful information on Munorwei on social media.
Who was the last person to see her alive?
The 23-year-old was last seen on Monday 3 August 2020, according to her boyfriend. The identity of the boyfriend has been withheld for reasons unknown to us.
However, we can confirm that he was the last person to see Munorwei alive. In his own version of events, he allegedly left the 23-year-old at their place of residence on Monday morning.
When he returned later that day, she was gone. At this time, these are the questions that remain unanswered:
- Where did the boyfriend go?
- How long was he away from the house where Munorwei was last seen?
- Have authorities corroborated his alibi?
- Can the boyfriend account for his whereabouts in the period he was away from his residence?
- Is there a trail on Munorwei’s cellphone activity on the day she went missing?
Colonel Ngoepe confirmed that a search team comprised of agents from the Tom Burke police department have rigorously searched in and around the area with no success.
“Anyone with information that can assist the police to locate this missing person, may contact Tom Burke police station on 079 889 6839 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station,” Colonel Ngoepe concluded.
