A convenience store in Worcester, Western Cape, was robbed by five suspects, and the ordeal was caught on CCTV.

According to renowned crime microblogger BOSBEER, the incident took place on Wednesday morning in Riebeek West, a small town situated about 75km northeast of Cape Town.

In the video footage that surfaced on social media, at least four suspects were seen rummaging through the store and throwing valuables into black plastic bags.

The robbers made their way towards the exit, and as they were leaving, two men, presumably employees or contractors, walked into the scene of a robbery.

After being briefly held at gunpoint and searched, the two men were let go, but not without one suffering a blow to the head with a carton of cigarettes.

Throughout the video clip, no sighting of the convenience store employees or owners was made.

We do know, however, that shortly thereafter, the five robbers were apprehended by Worcester police. From what we understand, police recovered the stolen goods and confiscated a number of loaded firearms, which will undergo ballistics tests to see if they are linked to other crimes in the region.

Here is the CCTV video footage of the Worcester convenience store robbery.
