A private security officer from White River, Mpumalanga, was targeted in a brutal assassination that was caught on CCTV.
White River security guard gunned down in firearm robbery
Details around the incident are still very sketchy, at this time. Neither Hi-Tech Security nor White River police had responded to our requests for comment at the time this article was published.
From what we understand, however, the incident took place on Sunday evening, reportedly less than a kilometre away from the nearest police precinct.
An unidentified security officer sat in his patrol car, parked outside a well-lit business property when two armed men approached him from out of nowhere and opened fire.
At some point in the fiery exchange, the security guard could be heard screaming in fear and shock, as the perpetrators swore at him, loading his body with lead.
One of the suspects opened the driver’s door, grabbed the firearm out of the security guard’s hands and removed the keys from the ignition before he and his accomplice casually walked off into the night.
While the merits of this assassination have yet to be confirmed with statements from Hi-Tech Security and police, it’s highly unlikely the security guard survived the attack.
Also, it’s presumed the suspects involved may still be at large. This and other details will be confirmed as soon as we have updates.
Meanwhile, the CCTV footage of the White River security guard’s ambush was posted on social media. You can view it below.
