Ennerdale residents watched on in horror as a number of armed suspects took down a RAM courier van in broad daylight, on Tuesday.
Watch: Robbers takedown RAM courier van in broad daylight
The entire robbery was filmed by eyewitnesses who watched in awe as the courier van was emptied by two masked individuals.
At the start of the video, two women can be heard screaming into the phone, presumably giving police information on the vehicle registration and the location of the robbery.
What we know about the suspects in the Ennerdale robbery
From what we were able to gather, the suspects were driving a white Toyota Corolla with the registration number FJ 40 FL GP.
The two armed suspects’ faces could not be seen in the video but there was a clear distinction in their physical appearance: one was short and lean while his cohort was big and stocky.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the ordeal and the video ends right when the robbers made off with all the contents of the RAM courier van.
What’s the latest in the search for suspects?
The courier service could not be reached for comment to establish the value of the items that were contained in the van.
Also, we are not able to provide any information on the current condition of the RAM staffer who was accosted in the Johannesburg suburb.
Ennerdale authorities have yet to issue a statement on the investigation into the robbery. Thanks to the vigilance of the eyewitnesses, police were given a headstart in the search for the getaway vehicle.
More on this when further updates trickle in.
