Kempton Park police are in search of a white Audi A4 that was involved in the armed robbery of a motorist at Engen Spartan on Monday morning.
Was the victim followed by the suspects?
According to metadata found on the CCTV footage that surfaced on social media, the incident took place in broad daylight, at approximately 10:53.
In the video clip, a white Audi A4 with registration plates BJ 24KC GP, was seen pulling into the petrol station but, interestingly, it did not stop next to a pump. Instead, it circled around until the target vehicle parked next to a filling station.
Then, suddenly, two armed men jumped out and confronted the vehicle. Observing the movement of the suspects, it can be reasonably assumed that the victim may have been targeted and followed to the Engen Spartan by robbers who knew where to find bags believed to be holding an undisclosed amount of money.
Fortunately, the armed robbery was carried out without injuries and the victim, as well as his vehicle, were spared.
