The scale of violence depicted in this uncut footage taken from a CCTV camera speaks volumes about the scale of violence that spooks South African streets.
Watch: Double assassination caught on CCTV
Renowned microblogger @crimeairnetwork posted the 45-second clip on Monday. Despite our best efforts to obtain information on the context of the violent crime you’re about to see, we were unable to verify its validity.
Alas, the cold-blooded nature in which the two men shown in the clip were killed is so gob-smacking, we had to shed light on it.
According to @crimeairnetwork, the double assassination was the result of an ongoing turf war between shoddy security companies in Hillbrow, Johannesburg.
We were unable to confirm this as our attempts to get comments from the Hillbrow police were unsuccessful.
In the clip, three men are seen hanging outside a well-lit building, oblivious of their surroundings and the horror they were about to face.
It isn’t long before an unidentified male walks into the frame of the camera. Without alerting suspicion, the man quickly draws his loaded gun and shoots one of the men in the back of the head, at point-blank range, killing him instantly.
He turns to the second man who, despite his attempt to flee, is shot multiple times and left sprawled in the middle of the street. The third man managed to make a run for it.
The shooter executes his hit in seconds and disappears into the night, leaving a trail of dead bodies in his wake.
You can watch the gruesome murders below. At this time, it is unknown if this double murder is being actively investigated.
