Footage captured from a convenience store in Birchleigh, north of Kempton Park, shows how the bravery of one victim almost cost him his life.
Convenience store robbery: Here’s what happened
Metadata on the footage gives us no indication on when the incident you are about to witness took place. A user who commented on revered crime microblogger @crimeairnetwork’s post claimed that the robbery took place at a convenience store in Birchleigh.
This, however, we were unable to confirm.
From what we could make out from the footage, at least three armed suspects entered the store, pretending to be shoppers.
Things took a turn when one of the robbers approached a lady standing in front of the cashier, seemingly struggling to get her to abide by his instructions.
Out of nowhere, the alleged robber was seen slapping the woman in the face before he was viciously attacked by a man who was queued behind her.
A fight breaks out between the alleged robber and the male customer. Fortunately, the second robber only flaunted the weapon in the angered customer’s face and did not use it to protect his fellow perpetrator.

Finally, the robbers managed to contain the situation and proceeded to the cashier’s till where an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
No information is available at present on whether the suspects were identified or court. Thus, we have every reason to believe the suspects are still at large.
More importantly, from what was reported, no one was injured in the ordeal.
