The conflict arose when Hanscombe tried to enforce the resort’s no-hookah policy.
According to a statement issued by authorities, Hanscombe intervened after an employee’s attempts to stop the group from using a hookah failed.
The situation escalated when a member of the group became aggressive, attacking Hanscombe. He was stabbed in the back during the fight and rushed to the hospital.

Hanscombe has been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment for his injuries.
Meanwhile, three suspects have been arrested and charged with attempted murder. They are expected to appear before the Orkney Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 27 December 2024.
Additionally, members of the group involved in the altercation have filed assault charges against Hanscombe.
