At least six people, including three children, were viciously killed in a shooting that took place at a private school in Nashville, Tennessee, US, on Monday.
Nashville shooting: What we know about deranged mass murderer
As reported by NPR, the Covenant School, a private Christian elementary institution, was the scene of a gory mass shooting orchestrated by a 28-year-old trans man.
In a statement, Nashville police confirmed Audrey Hale, the deranged mass murderer, was born female but preferred he/him pronouns.
Research on Hale’s background points to a possible troubled past with gender identity.
From what we understand, the 28-year-old may have undergone hormonal therapy that hardened their feminine features.
Moreover, further research shows Hale was into art illustrations and had a collection on Adobe Portfolio. In her portfolio, Hale described herself as “a freelance Illustrator and Graphic Designer who creates logos for businesses.”
“Aside from art, I enjoy binging on video games, watching movies, and playing sports. There is a child-like part about me that loves to go run to the playground. Animals are my second passion, so I also enjoy spending time with my two cats,” she wrote.
Most shocking, perhaps, are the Instagram direct messages Hale sent to a former middle school friend, Averianna Patton, hours before the Nashville school shooting, where he categorically stated his plan “to die today.”

Hale, a former Covenant School pupil, entered the school premises at approximately 10:13 on Monday, 27 March 2023, and in a span of 14 minutes, went on a killing spree that claimed the lives of:
- Cynthia Peak (61);
- Mike Hill (61);
- Katherine Koonce (60);
- Evelyn Dieckhaus (9);
- Hallie Scruggs (9); and
- William Kinney (9).
According to Nashville police, Hale entered the school from the side entrance and made her way to the second floor carrying two assault rifles and a pistol.
When he reached the lobby area, the 28-year-old trans man used a hand-sketched map to make his way around the school, firing indiscriminately at the sight of a human being.
Police confirmed Hale’s deadly killing spree ended at 10:27 when he was fatally shot in a fiery confrontation with responding officers.
A series of CCTV videos and images showed a timeline of Hale’s movements that fateful Monday morning, from the moment he pulled up to Covenant School in his Honda Fit, to the spine-chilling sight of the heavily armed 28-year-old breaching the school and searching for victims to kill.
