Fitness guru Lawrence Masinge was brutally gunned down in full view of his virtual class and family members believe this was not a random attack.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Masinge’s family provided more details about what happened on that fateful Wednesday afternoon.
The fitness guru from Saulsville, Atteridgeville was in the middle of a Zoom cardio session on 10 November 2021 when, in full view of his students, a figure suddenly appeared and unleashed a series of gunshots at Masinge.
From what we know, the fitness instructor was struck by 15 bullets, killing him instantly.
According to one of Masinge’s brothers, Simon, the suspect gained entry into the instructor’s home by scaling the wall and this is how he exited.
Simon also informed the cited publication that it was Masinge’s sister who witnessed the gunman jumping over the wall with a firearm in his hand.
“We did not hear any gunshots… When we went to go check the backroom where my brother was busy, we found him lying on the floor with wounds all over his body,” Simon revealed.

From what we understand, police have not made much progress in identifying the man behind the brutal murder of Masinge.
By now, detectives working on the homicide investigation would have dusted key areas of the residence for finger prints and collected shell casings for ballistic examinations.
Statements from Masinge’s family may have been recorded, as well. However, the information police have, at this juncture, has not produced any solid leads.
“The motive for the killing cannot be confirmed at this stage,” Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said in a statement.
Interestingly, the fitness guru’s family revealed that the only item taken by the perpetrator was the victims cellphone. This removes robbery as a likely motive.
Investigations into Masinge’s death are still ongoing.
