Western Cape Serious and Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a brazen shooting outside a primary school in Wallacedene, Kraaifontein, that left a 54-year-old school principal dead and a female passenger injured.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning at approximately 07:00. According to police spokesperson Captain Frederick C. van Wyk, the victims had arrived at the Henzikile Street school in a white Mahindra vehicle when three unidentified men approached and opened fire.
The principal died at the scene, while the injured woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have yet to confirm her condition. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown vehicle, leaving behind chaos and a traumatised community.
Detective Colonel Eddie Clark, who is leading the investigation, stated that a manhunt has been launched to track down the perpetrators.
Police officers are combing the area for evidence and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
